Once you understand your skin, we recommend starting simple and introducing a 4-step routine consisting of the key elements: cleansing, toning, moisturizing and protection. No matter how complex your skincare routine, these elements underpin it all. Once you’ve got them on lock, it’s up to you what you introduce next…
Step 1: Cleansing
Wash wash wash! If you’re tired and find yourself slipping into old habits of not taking care of your skin, as a minimum, wash your face! It helps avoid clogged pores, dullness and even acne. So something as simple as washing your face daily can reap major benefits over time. Plus, it’s much easier to start small and build up, so don’t be hard on yourself. Cleansing is where it begins! An easy way to introduce this into your daily routine is by using our Cleansing Aloe Vera Cream Mask to help cleanse and nourish the skin at the same time!
Step 2: Toning
Toners bring that added bit of nutrients to the skin. The skincare industry is a minefield and there are lots of toners out there, so based on your skin type, look at which ingredients are best for you. Why not start with our Pink Grapefruit & Rose Gel Mask? New for 2022, this product will hit Target stores at the end of January. With moisturizing and rejuvenating properties, it helps your skin appear firmer and more toned. Once you’ve got the cleansing and toning steps built into your daily routine, you’re nearly there. Take a look at Good Housekeeping’s toner recommendations based on your skin type.
Step 3: Moisturizing
Last but not least… moisturizing! Moisturizers hydrate and soften the skin to lock in all that goodness. Our new Brightening Kiwi Antioxidant Peel Off Mask is the perfect start to give your skin the boost it’s needing. Enriched with Sodium Hyaluronate which helps reinforce the skin’s short and long term moisturization, it’s the perfect skin plumper! On a day to day basis, we recommend investing in a lotion with a lighter texture if you have oily skin, in comparison to if you have dryer skin, a nourishing cream would be more beneficial.
Step 4: Protect
Don’t forget that SPF! Sunscreen is ultimately the most important skincare product. Not only does it protect your skin from sun damage, but it helps to prevent the development of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation and changes in pores. You can even use a moisturizer containing SPF, combining steps 3 & 4 of your new routine – winner, winner! Medical News Today provide some great advice based on skin types and recommend some of the best SPF moisturizers, read about them here.
If you struggle to keep up with a daily skincare routine, try introducing one step at a time and build up to the full routine. We recommend:
Week 1: Step 1, cleanse daily.
Week 2: Steps 1 & 3, cleanse and moisturize daily.
Week 3: Steps 1,2 & 3, cleanse, tone and moisturize daily. You’re nearly there…
Week 4: Steps 1, 2, 3 & 4 – you did it! By now you should be a pro and have that daily skincare routine in the bag!
